Tucker and Fritz Abeles: Fire Fighter Brothers

This is a short story that was written last weekend as part of the card for a friends girlfriends birthday. She laughed at it and a few others did, so I thought someone might get a kick out it of.

Tucker and Fritz Abeles: Fire Fighter Brothers

Two firefighters. Two men. Two brave soldiers.

Fighting fires.

Firefighters.

After 40 years of service to Ladder 128, Tucker and Fritz Abeles have been forced off the team. At 74 years of age, the noble twin brothers were not ready to put out their fires.

They weren’t done.

During a heated game of bingo, with $8 riding on the game, Tucker snapped. The fires were everywhere.
In his head, in his home, in his noble blue eyes. He knew it wasn’t over.
“Fritz, there’s a fire in me and I just can’t put it out.” Said Tucker.
Fritz gets face to face with Tucker, he is breathing deeply and audibly, their noses are touching.
“Or can we?” says Fritz, as he exhales. “It’s time to get back to business; fire business.”
“Suit up!” They say together, noses still touching.
The two stand together, at the entrance of their assisted living household, holding unlit cigarettes in their mouths.
Fritz pulls the cigarette out of his mouth, turns his head to the right and spits. He wipes the drool off his chin and says, “So if the firefighters won’t have us, who will?
Tucker smirks and puts his right hand on the strap of his overalls, “We’ll have us Fritz; we’ll have us. We’re gonna be a team that takes care of the fires so dangerous that even the firefighters won’t take care them. Just you, me, and the fires. I went through the trouble of putting an ad in the local newspaper, it’s only a matter of time before the fires start burning in this city, and it’s only a matter of time until we put them out.”
“So what now?” said Fritz.
“We wait.”
Ring Ring Ring Ring
“Bam like Bam Margera,” said Tucker “we’re in business.”
“What’s the job?” said Fritz.
“It’s heavy shit Fritz, it’s heavy.”
“I’ll put out any fire Tucker, as long as we put it out together.”

And with that, the two embarked into the depths of New York City.

Two firefighters;
Two men...

Looking for their final fire.
